چکیده
Abstract This study uses a generalized and parametrized reduced-order model in the frequency-domain to evaluate effects of asynchronous excitation on lateral response bridge structures. Bridge geometry parametric regions, corresponding conceptually valley profile shapes, are explored. Both modal bounding analyses, that dependent alone, employed highlight regions where first mode is anti-symmetrical likely error between identical support (ISE) multi-support (MSE) analyses large. Numerical time history using heuristic case spatiotemporal ground motion from SMART-1 array, employed. These confirm configurations MSE ISE often larger. confirms utility only identifying critical regions. cases correspond shallow valleys with central rise. In these it recommended both should be conservative.

Seismic Performance of seat-type bridges with elastomeric bearings
In Iran and some other countries, elastomer bearings in seat-type bridges are used with no sole/masonry plates and there is no positive connection between superstructure and substructure. Different codes have diverse provisions regarding the coefficient of friction (μ) between elastomer bearing and superstructure/substructure and also the design strength of shear keys (Vsk). Developing a finite...
متن کاملProbabilistic Evaluation of Seismic Performance of RC Bridges in Iran
Many existing bridges were designed without adequate consideration of seismic risk. The full or partial collapse of even one major bridge in a city or community would have destroying results. There has been focuses on developing fragility-based seismic vulnerability of existing usual bridges in Iran or support decision making on seismic upgrade. This article focuses on developing performance b...
متن کاملLateral excitation of bridges by balancing pedestrians
On its opening day, the London Millennium Bridge (LMB) experienced unexpected large amplitude lateral vibrations due to crowd loading. This form of pedestrian–structure interaction has since been identified on several other bridges of various structural forms. The mechanism has generally been attributed to ‘pedestrian synchronous lateral excitation’ or ‘pedestrian lock-in’. However, some of the...
متن کاملDynamic Response of Submerged Vertical Cylinder with Lumped Mass under Seismic Excitation
An analytical approach is presented to assess the response of offshore structures under seismic excitation. This paper evaluates the impacts of different fluid field models and the mass of equipment at the top of offshore structure which is simulated as lumped mass on the responses of offshore structures. To do this, two and three dimensional fluid field models are developed. In three dimension...
